If you are a regular reader of Orinui you my have noticed it gets a little colorful around here. So I thought we could use a break with some nice serene white. I dream of being the type of person who could decorate their home so simply. White is just the perfect color for hot summer days. You may have noticed Richmond Va made the major news for hitting 104 degrees yesterday. We are celebrating a cool front now. We are just in the mid 90s for the rest of the week. Speaking of summer you may have noticed everything just seems to slow down a little in the lazy hot days of summer. I just haven't been able to keep up with the 3 posts a week schedule that I try to keep. But I will try to make it up to you by thinking up some new great things to share with you. And remember you can always check out what I am up to just click on all those buttons on the right of your screen. I would love to hang out with you on twitter or follow your pins!

Linen
As you may have noticed I am a little wild about color and crazy color combinations. But sometimes you need a little neutral too. I love the subtlety and texture of linen. Just wanted to share some linen inspiration with you today. This is a collection that came about from my new Pintrest addiction. I found a few linen images and before you know it I had a whole pinboard full. You can see all the links and a few more pictures here.

Card Catalogs
Sweet Sweet Life
Small Notebook

Small Notebook

Ever since I have gotten this super fancy Mac Book I have just been drowning in technology. So I am feeling a little nostalgic for the olden days. I am so happy to know that these card catalogs had a very important job in their young lives but now get to enjoy their retirement being loved and adored in peoples homes.

As you know I have been retooling my workspace recently. I really want it to be both functional and a pleasant place to spend time. Lots of time. Getting lots done. I think these spaces do a great job of being super organizational as well as creative.

Vintage chairs

Something's Hiding in There

If a group of fish is called a school and a group of birds is called a flock what do you call a group of Vintage chairs? How lucky to find such a jackpot of vintage goodness. We should all be so lucky as these folks.

Xmas 2009
Look what Santa brought us this year. We totally don't deserve such nice things.
Coltrane got two new Giraffes to replace the original that was beheaded last year:

Celery colored Eames rocker that just happens to match a West Elm pillow I had:

Crazy patterned curtains from World Market. On the wall is a painting I just can't get around to finishing.

Eamesesque Rocker

Land of Nod
I really have been lusting after these rocking chairs for over a year now. You see them in every design blog house tour. They fill my every furniture need. They rock. They come in tons of colors at Fawn and Forest. And most importantly my cat can't tear it to shreds. I worry a little that they will become the new overdone fad but if they have lasted all these decades doesn't that just make them a classic?
