I first saw her work in Living Etc magazine in a story about India Knight's home. Charlotte Mann was commissioned to paint a wall of the hallway of their home (top pic) with images of their favorite things. She does it it all with a pen. I would love to know if she sketches it out first or if she just does it directly. I ask because I am all about planing things out and tracing and making everything more difficult than it needs to be. I think I should challenge my fears and just go to it. You think they will mind if I do it on the walls at work?

Lots of Plant Sales coming up next week in Richmond. Maymont's Herbs Galore and More is Saturday April 25th and Lewis Ginter will be holding their sale April 30th to May2nd. But it looks like I will have to wait until I get back from camp to do my plant shopping. A good place to find native plants is at your neighborhood farmers market. Ours opens in May but the growing season has definitely gotten a late start this spring so I doubt there will not be a lot of veggies but I will get there early to pick up some plants from local growers before I resort to the bigger green houses to complete my planting list for my spring garden.

Mark your calendars. put a reminder on your cell phone. Do whatever you have to do to make sure you don't miss the Spring Bada Bing sale at Plant Zero on Sunday. With this crazy economy it is more important than ever to spend your money wisely. What is better than buying handmade? I already know two things I am going to spoil myself with. Girly spring perfume from Modern Atelier and the Red Prairie Press scarf I am still regretting I didn't get at the Baltimore show.
