Recognize these prints from some where? Found these cute dresses on sale at JCrew unfortunately even on sale they are too pricey for me. But maybe if I hung the dress on the wall as a piece of art it would be ok?

RVA on Cable TV

Every time I turn on the TV these days the improvement shows are all about my hometown Richmond VA.

Last night I caught Trinny and Susannah's Making Over America. It featured a very brave local woman who allowed them to film her in her underwear on national TV. Good for her! Also I was so thrilled that they did all their shoping in carrytown at locally owned shops instead of one of the big malls. If you missed it don't worry I am sure they will rebroadcast it a million times.
Another interesting local show is Restorer Guy also on TLC. Contractor Gable Painter restores beautiful old Richmond homes with meticulous attention to detail and a historical accuracy. The house on Grace street was in such bad shape I have never even paid attention to it before though I have passed it a million times over the years. Can't wait to see the episode where it is completed.

I almost put a link to NPR's How Artists Make Money Series up last week.It is such a great idea. So I was so excited to hear todays was about local RVA performance artist Slash Coleman and it was the best one yet. Funny,sad and informative you just have to listen.

Style Court has a very interesting new series of post on artists and how they work. Featuring their palettes and work spaces. Such a great idea. I can't wait to see a new one in the series.

I am in awe of the work of Carole Silverstein. I love the way she creates paintings that are unapologetically in love with pattern and ornament.

Mad Men Season 3

Mad Men season 3 starts this month. Can't wait to time travel back to the 60's. It's hard to keep track to the twists and turns of the plot when I am paying so much attention to the sets and costumes.
