Business Blogs

I have so many ideas for starting my own business and I need all the help I can get(from someone other than my cat Coltrane). While I love artist blogs for their inspiration and the encouragement of their successes. I really need help with the basics of running a business. These are a few of my favorite blogs that I go to for the important stuff:
Design*Sponge Biz Ladies
Modish Biz Tips

Stenciled floors

I am inspired by the newest diy example on Design Sponge of a stenciled concrete walkway. This looks just like the one in my backyard minus the pattern. This is something I have been thinking about trying out after seeing the winner of the Lena Corwin contest on Design Sponge. Love the suzanni pattern on the worn floor boards.

And of course there is this floral pattern from My Marrakesh has been a blog favorite.

Otomi

Aren't these Otamis from Jacaranda Home gorgeous. These are totally the new Suzani. Same technique different culture. I keep seeing this silhouette style in beautiful colors in fabrics and wallpaper. Thanks for the tip from Kathy Elliott (my new favorite blog!!) via Fibercopia

Mosaic House

Wow I am in love with these Moroccan tiles I saw by following a link on Supercozy for Mosaic House. If I won that 232 million lottery instead of that young man from South Dakota I would tile every room in my house with these just like Doris Duke.

Through The Viewfinder

Cassia Beck

Valcox

You know those old fashioned cameras where you hold the camera in front of you and look down the top to see the image. Turns out folks have come up with the idea of taking a photo of that viewfinder image with a second camera. When I saw this I was blown away. I love photography when it is distorted in some special way. I used to collect vintage cameras but put them away in the attic because they were just collecting dust. Now I can't wait to get them out and actually use them.
