As you know I have been retooling my workspace recently. I really want it to be both functional and a pleasant place to spend time. Lots of time. Getting lots done. I think these spaces do a great job of being super organizational as well as creative.

Liberty at Target Countdown

Well it looks like Thursdays are going to be dedicated to Liberty updates. Target is counting down to the March 14th launch on their website. You can choose from several pattern wallpapers and take a facebook quiz. What floral pattern are you?

Organization

These clips from Mateo Ilasco are so much more stylish than the yellow postit note I use. Plus I love the photos. Her Craft Inc. Buisness planner is on back order but I would love to get my hands on it when it back in stock.

So you know how much I love pattern but this may just be over doing it a little. I am assuming the plate comes with the toaster. Minale Maeda via My Black Book.

Liberty at Target

So exciting to see that Target will be full of beautiful liberty print items in March. These images are from the March issue of InStyle Magazine. The prices look very affordable so maybe I will be able to pick out a few things. That jacket that has the yellow and grey pattern was on the JCrew dress that I coveted in a previous post. I remember during the last big buzz about Orla Kiley's line coming out and how every one on the blogs gave out the alert of when and what was out at their local Target and then showed pictures of what they got. So if anyone sees the Liberty goodies at any Richmond area Targets let me know.
If you are a fan of Liberty prints be sure to check out their new line.

Vintage chairs

Something's Hiding in There

If a group of fish is called a school and a group of birds is called a flock what do you call a group of Vintage chairs? How lucky to find such a jackpot of vintage goodness. We should all be so lucky as these folks.

Typewriter Love

Lola's Room

Last week at my day job I was working on office themed prints and I drew the cutest vintage typewriter. Brought back memories of my mom's manual typewriter. Our cat Snoopy loved to chase the little arms as they hit the paper. I miss the smell of machine oil and the hard clunking noises it would make as you hit the keys. would love to buy a replacement. Mom's had a accident years ago and never worked again. Lots of vintage ones for sale out there but maybe I would be happy with some nice photographs of typewriters?

Art 180 Calendar

Big thanks to Art 180 in Richmond Va for sending me this great calendar as a gift for attending in their auction. Art 180 is a art program for kids. Each month of the calendar has a quote from one of the kids and a drawing by local artist Chris Milk Hulbert. The idea of printing a calendar in a jewel case is genius. Why haven't I seen this sooner? Found a website that has step by step instructions on how to use a recycled case. Turns out the secret is to take the cover off and turn it around. And a site that sells cases just for calendars. They have them in several different sizes including a business card size one. That would be just too cute.

Riki Zarris Prints

Well I finally did it!!!! My Etsy store is open and ready for business. Everyone says you are supposed to space out your listings but it looks so small right now with just the one listing of a set of four 10x10 prints. Come and see for yourself at rikizarris.etsy.com.
I was really stressing out last night working out all the kinks with printing. You don't want to know how much ink and paper was wasted. But it will take some time to get used to having my own business. I am excited to see what sort of images I can make when I am not selling to the Home Decor Industry. In the beginning I will still look pretty mass market but we will see what I have up my sleeve. I don't have to paint sets! Hard to wrap my head around that one. Thank you everyone for reading the blog and taking time to see what I am up to. It really means a lot to me.

Joel Dewberry Patterns

Last year I got a zipper pouch made with the top right fabric Orchid in chocolate. Turns out my friend Erica has the same one too. I always knew she had great taste. These are just a few of Joel Dewberry's patterns. Check out all the wonderful color combinations here.

zipper bag obsession

I must confess my secret obsession is collecting lots and lots of these little bags. I have at least three or four in my big purse right now and more squirreled away around the house. This obsession goes well with my pattern lust. They are also great souvenirs when traveling. Some people get coffee mugs I get local fabric. Here are some I have my eye on on Etsy:

Amy Butler Patterns

How fitting to start off February posts with Amy Butler's new line "Love." I keep seeing floral patterns every where right now with a dark background of black or blue that makes the brights highlight colors like the turquoise really pop. These are perfect examples. But of course every thing she does is amazing including her marketing and image. I love all the promotional photographs and even the images of her trade show booths on her beautiful web site. I also wanted to share some of my favorites from older lines.
